Friends Outside of Contra Costa Co.

We are a Non-profit organization funded by the Contra Costa County Sheriffs Dept. to provide services to those affected by detention.

What We Do

We provide support and guidance to families during this hard time by linking them to services

(including by not limited to):

• Counseling
• Financial aid
• Job training
• Childcare
• Support services
• Referrals to housing through Shelter Inc.
• Domestic Violence/ STAND!
• Referrals to the Family Law facilitator
• Referrals to Child Support Services

In house services include but are not limited to

• Emergency food for three days once every 3 months.
• Back to School Program
• Christmas Sponsorship

While inside the jail the inmate will become familiar with Friends Outside® through the following services:

• ESP/GHSH
• Eyeglass program
• Denture cream
• Domestic Violence Program
• AA/NA meetings
• Court and release clothing

Our primary goal is to help the individual to move out of the revolving door of detention.
